Workers' Compensation
The Connecticut Workers' Compensation Commission handles claims for employees injured on the job.
What to do if you're hurt at work:- Report the injury to your employer immediately.
- Seek medical treatment. You may choose your own doctor.
- Your employer must report the injury to their insurer.
- Notify your employer within 1 year of the injury (but report as soon as possible).
- File a formal claim within 1 year if benefits are not paid voluntarily.
- All Connecticut employers must carry workers' compensation insurance (with very limited exceptions).
- Benefits include medical care, temporary total or partial disability, permanent partial disability, and death benefits.
- Temporary total disability pays 75% of after-tax average weekly wage.

State Disability Programs
Connecticut does not have a state disability insurance program but does have CT Paid Leave, which provides paid leave for serious health conditions.
- CT Paid Leave: Up to 12 weeks of paid leave for serious health conditions, caring for a family member, or bonding with a new child.

Medicaid
Connecticut Medicaid is called HUSKY Health.

Vocational Rehabilitation
