Workers' Compensation

The DC Office of Workers' Compensation under the Department of Employment Services (DOES) handles claims.

What to do if you're hurt at work:
  1. Report the injury to your employer immediately.
  2. Seek medical treatment.
  3. File a claim with the Office of Workers' Compensation.

State Disability Programs

DC does not have a separate state disability insurance program but has DC Paid Family Leave.

For long-term disability, apply through federal SSDI/SSI.

DC Medicaid is administered by the Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF).
